All your brake services at Alex
Caliper maintenance and replacement
Brake calipers are essential to the proper functioning of the braking system. We check their condition, clean moving parts and replace defective calipers to restore your vehicle’s performance and safety.
Bleeding and replacing brake fluid
Damaged brake fluid can extend braking distances. We completely bleed the system and replace the fluid with a quality fluid to ensure a fast and efficient braking system response.
Replacing brake pads and discs
Worn brake pads and discs can compromise your safety. We replace these components with quality parts to ensure powerful, quiet and durable braking, adapted to your driving style.
ABS maintenance and repair
The ABS (anti-lock braking system) is crucial to vehicle stability in the event of emergency braking. Thanks to our electronic diagnostic equipment, we can quickly detect and correct any ABS-related anomalies.
Why maintain and replace your brakes regularly?
The braking system is one of the most crucial elements for your safety on the road. It doesn’t just stop your vehicle: it does so while maintaining control, stability and responsiveness, even in emergency situations.
Over time, brake pads, discs, calipers and fluid wear out. This wear, often gradual and silent, can lead to loss of efficiency, abnormal noise, longer braking distances, or worse: complete system failure.
Regular maintenance helps to:
- Protect your safety and that of others
- Prevent premature wear of your discs and associated components
- Maintain fast, stable braking response
- Prevent noise, vibration or loss of grip
- Reduce the risk of costly repairs or accidents
At Alex Pneu et Mécanique, we inspect the actual condition of your brakes: pads, discs, ABS sensors, calipers and fluid levels. We use quality parts that comply with manufacturer specifications, and give you a clear diagnosis so you can make an informed decision.

Why choose us for brake maintenance and replacement?
According to manufacturer’s standards
We use parts of equivalent or higher quality than the original. Every replacement is done by the book, for safe, long-lasting, quiet braking.
Clear, honest explanations
We take the time to explain the condition of your brake pads, discs or calipers. No confusion, no pressure. You decide with all the information in hand.
Fast service, meticulous workmanship
No compromise on safety: our team rigorously follows every step of the way – from diagnostics to system bleeding – for optimum braking performance right from the start.
Useful tips, no overselling
If only the front brakes need replacing, we won’t try to sell you rear brake replacement on top of that! And if other components deserve a look, we’ll let you know, in full transparency.
Experienced technicians, up-to-date equipment
ABS, disc or drum brakes, electronic systems: we master all technologies, on all types of vehicles.
Frequently asked questions about brake changes
When should brakes be replaced?
Brake pads should generally be replaced every 30,000 to 70,000 km, depending on your driving style, vehicle, and road conditions. If you hear squeaking, feel vibrations when braking, or notice a loss of effectiveness, it may be time to replace them.
What are the signs that my brakes are worn?
- Squeaking or metallic noises
- Soft pedal or pedal that goes lower than usual
- Vibrations in the steering wheel or pedal when braking
- Brake warning light on the dashboard
- Longer braking distance
Do I need to change the discs at the same time as the pads?
Not always. If the discs are still in good condition (sufficient thickness, not too worn or deformed), only the pads may need to be replaced. We always check their condition before taking action.
How long does it take to change brakes?
It depends on the vehicle. Feel free to contact us and a technical advisor will be happy to provide you with more details.
What causes premature brake wear?
- Aggressive driving or driving in urban areas (frequent braking)
- Transporting heavy loads
- Prolonged braking when going downhill
- Poor quality of previously installed parts
Do you also replace brake fluid?
Yes. Brake fluid should be replaced approximately every 2 years, as it absorbs moisture and loses effectiveness over time, which can affect braking.
Can I continue to drive with worn brakes?
This is strongly discouraged. Worn brakes can compromise your safety, increase the risk of accidents, and damage other parts (such as discs or calipers), which will cost more in the long run.
Do you service all types of vehicles?
Yes. We service brakes for cars, SUVs, pickup trucks, American, European, Japanese, hybrid, and electric vehicles.
Do you use quality parts?
Absolutely. We install parts that are equivalent or superior in quality to the original parts, always in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.
Do you offer a warranty on brakes?
Yes, our parts and labor are guaranteed. The specific details will be explained to you before any work is done.
